FIG to LaTeX document

This page shows how to convert a FIG file named x.fig from XFig, jFig or WinFIG into a standalone *.tex file you can process using pdfLaTeX to create a standalone PDF file.

Choice 1: Use gxhconvert

Procedure

gxhconvert -o=tex -d x.fig

Further options

Option Purpose
--pgf Use PGF instructions in the *.tex output file instead of creating and including a *-i.pdf file

Choice 2: Manual conversion, create PDF+TeX combination

fig2lat -ltex.pdf x.fig

Choice 3: Manual conversion, use PGF instructions

fig2lat -ltex x.fig
